Scary Things

Today, I auditioned for the musical The Wizard of Oz! I did something that I am afraid to do. I auditioned for a musical. I know I can sing. That's not the problem. The problem is that I can't read music, and I'm not a very good dancer. I can't count the beats out, or whatever. It's hard to explain because people who know how to do it, look at me like I am nuts when I say this. But I don't think I've ever learned effectively. Here's what happens to me. I am trying to remember the words and hit the right notes, so then when I add the counting to it, too, my brain gets overwhelmed and so I stop counting. Perhaps I do count unconsciously a little, but I don't know if that's even possible. Any way, whether I got the part remains to be seen, but I auditioned, and I did well. That's what's important. Oh, I auditioned for another play (not a musical, so not so scary) called Charley's Aunt. I made call backs! We'll see what happens.

WTF!?

This quiz made me laugh, so Kurtis and I had to take it. My results are first and then Kurtis'. He's so tough. Ha ha ha!

I thought I was Pocahontis...

Here are my Disney Princess results this time around. The last time I took this quiz, I was Pochahontas. No, I really don't know how to spell her name for reels. Sorry. I just make things up as I go along most of the time. But I love Mulan! She's one of my favorites. Belle is really up there on my list, too and Ariel. So I'm cool with being Mulan. She's awesome. Go watch the movie. Then you'll know.

Hardcore Partying

Riley's birthday party was on Sunday, October 12th. He had a great party. Lamps were broken, valuables were pilfered and rare objects splintered into a million pieces. The house looked like a tornado had come through and just, BAM! Total destruction. I don't know if my six-year-old will ever have another party again. I can't believe the things that small children can do!
No, I'm totally kidding. We had a great time and nothing was destroyed. Gotcha! Just my little side note, we don't have any valuables or rare objects. We had dinner. The five cheese lasagna Kurtis bought by accident was a hit. We bought a meat lasagna as well, but we had leftovers of that one. Interesting. Then we made craft foam bags to put their party favors in. Note to self (and anybody who cares) craft glue (even the quick-drying kind) does not dry fast enough. I should have used the glue dots. Any way, then we had ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. So yummy! Then we opened presents. Good times. Good times. Here's a few of the pictures we took!

Making monster bags for the treats!

Riley had a monster-theme, so his cake had fuzzy monsters on it!

And of course! The most important part - Presents!

October is My Favorite!

Well, October is here! The leaves are changing colors and falling from the trees. I decorated for Halloween. The play I'm in is almost through, and Riley's 6th birthday is the 13th, and Halloween is almost here! Kaleb is going to be Spiderman. His new obsession. He thinks he is Spiderman. Zach is going to be a Warlock from World of Warcraft and Riley is going to be his Voidwalker. Could he have picked a harder costume? Most people don't even know what that is. I will be putting it together like a hunchback costume because voidwalkers are these big hunched over demons that warlocks can summon to help them fight their enemies. I love Halloween. It's my favorite holiday. I don't dress up any more, but I love dressing up the kids. It's so fun. I'll post pictures of Riley's birthday party next week. He's having a monster bash theme. So much fun!
