We are still at Michele's and we won't be leaving until Sunday morning. I'm so happy I get to spend so much time with my sister. I've missed her. She used to live in Utah, and I saw here whenever I wanted. Then she and her husband moved to Germany for three years. When Brian's company brought them back to the states, they were sent to Minnesota instead of back to Utah. Although, at the time I wasn't happy with that arrangement, I have to admit I probably would never have known about all the things to do here. I do love it here. Unfortunately, Kaleb could not live here. He is allergic to mosquito bites, and there are a lot of bugs here. Riley got a dog tick on his stomach Monday. I pulled all of it out, so no worries. It was kind of funny, but when Kurtis had him strip down to check him out, he said, "How could a tick get under my clothes?" Kurtis replied, "It has legs doesn't it?" Then he lifted up his shirt and sure enough. He had one sucking his blood. Yuck.
Today, was so freaking awesome! We went to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and looked at many of the beautiful are pieces there. I rather enjoyed the Chinese section. Apparently in the Japanese section, there is a place that says "Do Not Enter! Alarms Will Sound!" Or something like that. I didn't see it. But Kaleb, who can't read everything yet wanted to check out the forbidden palace. Yep. He set off the alarm. Hee hee! I'm glad the guard didn't get angry with him. He's so sensitive.
After the MIA, we went to St. Paul and rode on a ferry boat down the Mississippi River! It was so amazing! I saw blue herons and snowy egrets. I love birds. And frogs. We didn't see any frogs today, though. That's okay. After the tour of the Mississippi, we went to the park and played and ate lunch. Then we went to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. That is a wonderful place to see crazy sculptures like the famous Cherry On A Spoon. The kids can run around and drive their parents crazy. We may have tried to cram too much into one day. The kids were pretty cranky by the end of the day. But we had so much fun turning them into monsters! :D
I don't really think this picture needs a caption, but all my other ones have one, so it might look weird if there isn't one. :)
A Chinese tapestry.
I loved this Asian tree sculpture.
Riley and Isaac meditating in front of the Italian fountain.
Kaleb looking at the map of the museum.
In the elevator which is designed to be like an old time elevator. Loved this place!
Alright, I was not supposed to take a picture of this (but I didn't know it at the time!), but I had to get Zach posing this way! It'd be a dream come true if he could pretend with a sword like this!
A pretty stained glass window in the Jewish section. It was really called something more scholarly, but I can't remember what it was.
Please keep off the grass.
Padelford Landing.
I can't get him to seriously smile. He needs to always make some sort of silly face! :D
Cool bridge.
Brian and Michele.
The flags on the boat.
Blue Heron.
Together on the boat!
The boys go crazy when there is a camera around.
I love this picture. It was cold, but it was so wonderful!
Flying blue heron.
Riley loves this ride!
St. Paul, Minnesota and the dock where we left land.
The crazy seven!
This is not the boat we were on, but it's the same as the boat we were on. So beautiful.
The kids really loved this park.
Sculpture Garden fish.
The kids in front of the spoon.
Kaleb relaxing on one of the pieces of art.
So much fun.
My sister (the artist) says this piece is so weird. I laughed and said, "That's why I love it!"
This piece is weirder to me than the other one!
Art the kids can play on!
Hugs!
Hmmmm.
After dinner, Michele and I took Sadie for a walk. Or did she take us for a walk?
How would that be to have a lake in your back yard? Um. Awesome. And buggy.
Blue heron in the lake two blocks from her house. No, this one is not the library one. It's another one.

I had no idea anyone set off an alarm! We are bigger party-ers than I knew. :)
